Member Code of Conduct

NASCA is an industry membership organization established to promote professional relationships, education, knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and the exchange of information among members.

To maintain a professional, constructive, and non-commercial environment, all members and participants are expected to follow this Code of Conduct.

1. Professional and Respectful Conduct

Members must treat other members, guests, speakers, staff, and participants with professionalism, courtesy, and respect.

Members must not engage in:

• Harassment, bullying, intimidation, threats, or abusive conduct;
• Discriminatory or hateful conduct;
• Personal attacks, insulting, degrading, or deliberately disruptive behavior;
• Unwelcome sexual conduct or other inappropriate behavior;
• Knowingly false or malicious statements about another member or organization; or
• Conduct that unreasonably interferes with another member's participation in the group.

Disagreements and differences of professional opinion are permitted and encouraged when expressed respectfully and constructively.

2. Non-Commercial Purpose

NASCA is a non-commercial membership community. The website, discussion forums, meetings, events, and other member activities are intended for professional education, industry discussion, networking, and the exchange of ideas—not for commercial transactions.

Unless expressly authorized by NASCA, members may not use the membership, website, directory, discussion forums, meetings, events, or other group resources to:

• Advertise, promote, market, or sell products or services;
• Solicit customers, clients, vendors, investors, employees, or business opportunities;
• Make or solicit offers to buy or sell goods or services;
• Post sales promotions, discounts, coupons, advertisements, or commercial announcements;
• Send unsolicited commercial messages to other members;
• Use member contact information for marketing or sales purposes;
• Recruit members into a commercial opportunity, sales program, referral program, or similar business arrangement;
• Direct members to external websites primarily for the purpose of making a commercial sale; or
• Conduct or facilitate commercial transactions between members.

Members should not interpret participation in the group, access to member information, or attendance at an event as permission to solicit business from other members.

3. Limited Professional References

Members may identify their employer, organization, professional role, or area of expertise when participating in the group.

However, such identification must not be used as a means of advertising or soliciting business.
For example, a member may state, "I work in a certain industry/field and have experience with this issue," but should not use a discussion, post, meeting, or member communication to promote their company, solicit a customer, or make a sales pitch.

4. Industry Discussions

Members are encouraged to exchange ideas, experiences, research, best practices, and other information relevant to the industry.

Members should distinguish between sharing professional knowledge and promoting their own commercial interests.

Members should not use industry discussions as a pretext for sales activity or targeted solicitation.

5. Confidential and Proprietary Information

Members should respect confidential, proprietary, and non-public information belonging to other members, their employers, clients, customers, or other organizations.

Members should not share information that they are not authorized to disclose.

Nothing in this Code of Conduct requires a member to disclose confidential or proprietary information.

6. Antitrust and Competition Laws

Members must comply with all applicable antitrust and competition laws.

Members should not use the group to discuss or coordinate matters that could unlawfully restrict competition, including agreements or coordination concerning prices, pricing policies, customers, markets, territories, wages, suppliers, production levels, bids, or allocation of business opportunities.

Members should not exchange competitively sensitive information except where such exchange is clearly appropriate and lawful.

When in doubt, members should refrain from the discussion and seek guidance from NASCA before proceeding.

7. Member Information and Privacy

Member contact information and other member information provided through NASCA must be used only for legitimate membership-related purposes.

Members may not copy, collect, sell, distribute, or use member information for commercial solicitation, marketing, lead generation, or other unauthorized purposes.

8. Events and Meetings

The Code of Conduct applies to all NASCA activities, whether conducted online or in person, including meetings, conferences, educational programs, networking events, discussion forums, social events, and member communications.

Members are expected to respect the purpose and format of each event and refrain from unauthorized commercial solicitation.

9. Reporting Concerns

Members who believe that this Code of Conduct has been violated are encouraged to report the matter to NASCA at Secretariat@n-a-s-c-a.org .

Reports will be reviewed as appropriate and handled as confidentially as reasonably possible.

Retaliation against a member who makes a good-faith report of a potential violation is prohibited.

10. Enforcement

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in appropriate action, including removal of content, restriction of access to certain group activities, suspension of membership privileges, or termination of membership.
The nature and severity of the response may depend on the circumstances, including the seriousness and frequency of the conduct.

NASCA reserves the right to take immediate action when reasonably necessary to protect members, the organization, or the integrity of the community.

11. No Waiver of Applicable Law

Nothing in this Code of Conduct is intended to prohibit lawful professional discussion, the exercise of legally protected rights, or conduct that cannot lawfully be restricted.

NASCA may update this Code of Conduct from time to time. Members will be subject to the version in effect at the time of their participation.
